Patient Advocate
ExecuSource has an immediate Contract to Direct opportunity for a Patient Advocate in the Sandy Springs/Dunwoody area. In this role you will assist with Reception/Check-in, Check-out, Phones, scheduling of appointments, referrals, assigning electronic records, and posting of charges for assigned provider.
Responsibilities:
- Answering phones and pulling charts when necessary for scheduled appointments.
- Responsible for check-in, scheduling, referrals, and check-out processes. Assigning electronic medical records to providers.
- Confirms appointments two days prior to schedule.
- Daily posting of assigned providers charges and daily balancing of patient payments. Responsible for collecting past due balances and copays.
- Monthly call lists for well visit reminders.
- Copy and mailing of requested medical records in a timely manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned directly by the Management or Physicians and assists other advocates when needed.
- Maintains patient confidentiality.
- Acts as public relations agent for the practice and physicians when dealing with patients, employers, and insurance companies, promoting a feeling of cooperation and concern.
Requirements/Education:
- High school diploma and/or GED.
- Minimum 1 year work experience.
- Word processing and computer experience.
- Knowledge of medical terminology desirable.
