Supervises the daily activity of MA’s, CMA’s or LPN’s. Assists physicians and nursing staff in the care of patients. Performs various patient care activities with patient flow, taking vitals, giving injections, assisting with patient personal hygiene and other needs as required. May administer prescribed medications with appropriate licensure.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university
- Requires valid licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a clinical setting
- CPR certification is required
Essential Functions
- Provides direct supervision of the MA staff including staff assignments. Evaluates and reports on MA staff performance by providing feedback, education and mentoring on duties performed
- Develops policies and procedures related to MA/LPN duties. Develops training materials and provide education for overall development of the clinical staff
- Evaluates and reports on MA staff performance by providing feedback, education and mentoring on duties performed.
- Supervises and provides direct patient care in accordance with accepted clinical standards while utilizing the department process
