Job Description:
PURPOSE OF JOB: Provides direct patient care and performs selected therapeutic interventions and diagnostic procedures under the direction of the Registered Nurse and LPN.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provides safe and efficient direct patient care with consideration for age-specific accommodations.
- Collaborates with patients, families, and health care team members in order to achieve excellence in patient care.
- Promotes patient safety through adherence to protocols, policies, procedures, evidence-based guidelines and Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goals.
- Actively participates in and supports departmental and organizational quality initiatives and goals.
- Maintains clinical competency according to unit-specific standards.
Job Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- High school or GED completion
- Certified Nursing Assistant documentation for certified PCT position. Must maintain current Pennsylvania license.
Other Skills:
- Certified in B.L.S. for health care providers
- Excellent interpersonal and team building skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology helpful
- Knowledge of computer functionality
