Patient Services Representative Job at United Health Services
Position Overview
Under the supervision of the Director of Ambulatory and Emergency Services, the Emergency Department Patient Service Representative is primarily responsible for obtaining accurate demographic and insurance information from patients. This individual performs routine clerical functions in order to facilitate the flow of clerical duties, as they relate to enhancing patient care, and collects co-pays at the time of service. The Emergency Department Patient Service Representative performs additional duties as assigned such as maintaining inventory, delivering specimens to the laboratory, EKG's, vital signs and preparing instruments for central supply. The Patient Services Representative will also assisit with the stocking of supplies in EMS room, patient rooms, as well as clean the utilities and med room.
Position Requirements
Education/Experience
Minimum Required:
High School Diploma or GED with hospital experience in a field related to accounts receivable, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with computers and performing simple mathematical computations with a high degree of accuracy.
Preferred:
Not Applicable
License/Certification
Minimum Required:
CPR certification within 1 week of hire
Preferred:
CNA or EMT certification
