Patient Transporter Job at State of South Carolina

This posting is for two (2) part-time, permanent positions. One position is located in Dillon, South Carolina and one position is located in Bennettsville, South Carolina. The work schedule for this position is Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Under direct supervision, provides transportation for Tri-County Community Mental Health Center (TCCMHC), inspects vehicles, and performs building and grounds duties when not directly involved with vehicle operation. Provides transportation for patients as assigned. Inspects vehicles prior to transporting patients to ensure vehicle meets safety standards. Maintains mileage logs on vehicles. Promotes and provides a culturally competent atmosphere in all interactions with patients. Practices safety rules and applies CARF standards. Serves on the Center's safety committee. Adheres to all Federal, State, and local laws/regulations, TCCMHC/SCDMH Corporate Compliance standards, and operational regulations in performing all job duties. Performs and documents routine cleaning of building.


State Minimum Requirements: Experience in the operation or maintenance of heavy equipment, motorized vehicles or machinery that is directly related to the area of employment.

Agency Minimum Requirements: A tenth grade education and one (1) year experience in the operation of motorized vehicles. Must have a valid driver's license.
