A DAY IN THE LIFE:

The Payroll Analyst II is primarily responsible for assisting in bi-weekly payroll processing for a multi-state organization including review of timecards, wage garnishments, setting up new hires, terminations, leaves of absence, tax changes, healthcare deductions, 401(k) deductions, VOE’s, state and federal compliance requirements, and other non-recurring pay items including responding to employee related inquiries.

  • Assists in processing bi-weekly payroll for approximately 2300+ employees in a multi-state environment using Ultimate Software.
  • Audit payroll before and after it is submitted by pulling reports and using formulas to reconcile data. Review timecards for hourly employees to make sure there are no errors.
  • Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
  • Prepare final and manual checks for employees as needed

YOU’RE AWESOME AT:

  • Understanding company policies on meal premiums, coefficient overtime, PTO, 401k, and health plans, as well as government regulations, garnishments, and tax withholding guidelines to assist internal customers.
  • Educating all levels of employees on general payroll practices and policies, including educating managers on payroll requirements such as meal premiums, time sheet adjustments, PTO, schedules, etc..
  • Assisting with implementing, writing, and maintaining standard operating procedures for Payroll.
  • Monitor incoming payroll emails and either provide answers to payroll-related questions or forward emails to appropriate employee/department for response.
  • Accurately and efficiently process all Verification of Employment paperwork for employees.
  • Skilled at creating a cooperative team environment.
  • Organized with high attention to detail.

EXTRA AWESOME:

  • B.S. degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or other relevant discipline or equivalent combination of and applicable job experience preferred.
  • 4 plus years’ experience in payroll processing; preferable in a mid-size multi-state organization (2,500+ employees), including familiarity with identifying and applying state-specific payroll requirements.
  • Outsourced payroll service experience (specifically Ultimate Software/UKG) is preferred.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

The starting base pay range for this position is $26.68 - $33.31 per hour. Base pay will vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and may also fluctuate depending on candidate’s location and the overall job market. In addition to base pay, Tandem offers a competitive compensation package that includes bonus, equity, and a robust benefits package.

Tandem offers health care benefits such as medical, dental, vision, health savings accounts and flexible saving accounts.
