About Us:

East Coast Lumber is a full-service professional lumber yard and building supply company located in East Hampstead, NH that has been family owned and operated since 1976. Supplying local builders, remodelers and homeowners with all their building needs, we have become a preferred supplier of lumber and building materials, kitchen & bath products, builder’s hardware, millwork, and equipment sales, rentals and service.

**Based on internal unforeseen circumstances we are reposting this position again because it has not been filled. We are accepting new resumes and will conduct a new round of interviews.

This position is responsible for maintaining accurate employee files and the in-house processing bi-weekly payroll and payroll taxes for over 100 employees. It also involves all human resources related functions including benefits administration, onboarding, training and handling employee relations. This position will assist the Accounting Manager and Controller in other administration functions as needed.

General Requirements

· Knowledge of payroll principles and federal and state payroll tax filing requirements.

· Minimum 3 years of payroll experience with an associate’s degree preferred.

· Knowledge of in-house payroll processing utilizing QuickBooks.

· Familiar with employment laws and practices as well as federal and state regulations.

· Must have excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize tasks.

· Must have evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality and discretion.

· Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.

· Remain current on rules and regulations affecting payroll, taxes, FMLA, ACA, ADA, STD/LTD, workers’ compensation, 401k, DOT, and other employment related responsibilities.

· Demonstrated ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, in a professional manner with other employees and management, in a constructive and non-combative manner.

· Investigate, recommend action and resolve employee relations, employee performance, complaints and issues.

· Work closely with insurance brokers and 401k agents.

· Have the ability to listen and understand instruction and work independently and with others to complete the task.

· Must be a team player willing to assist in any department job or task.

· Ability to multi task while paying close attention to detail is required.

· Must be able to meet both internal and external deadlines.
