The Central Falls School District welcomes applications for the position of Payroll Specialist. In this position, the valuable is responsible for providing high-quality customer service, which involves paying employees, tracking hours worked, calculating employees' pay, and distributing payments via direct deposit to employee bank accounts or by check. The candidate will also have a strong grasp of the interrelations between finance and human resources, coupled with good problem-solving skills in order to detect errors that may develop with technology, or human errors from employees and managers.This is a 12-month salaried non union position. Position includes benefits, retirement/state pension, and generous PTOIn this role you will be streamlining the Payroll Function and be a vital part of the digital transformation.Prepare bi-weekly payroll for all school department employeesSort and enter employee timesheets to issue additional pay for each pay periodVerify all leave taken by all staff, assist school staff with correct accounting of time.Reconcile pay information.Maintain a high degree of accuracy in payroll and attendance records for employees, including pay rates, transfers, promotions, taxes, insurance, dues, retirements and annuities.Make necessary payroll adjustments regarding pay, benefits, deductions, etc.Reconcile Teacher Retirement and Non-Teacher Retirement contributionsAssist in the preparation of reports for local, state and federal agencies.

(ACA)Ensure compliance with IRS, State and other legislative actions and assist auditors in finding and interpreting district information.Process all forms submitted Municipal Employment Retirement System (MERS) and Employment Retirement System of Rhode Island (ERSRI) (i.e., retirement).Work with the Finance Team and Human Resources in maintaining the district wide Enterprise Resource System.Assist in preparation of salary projections for budget and negotiations purposesBecome knowledgeable of the Union and non-union contract provisions for faculty and staff.Such other responsibilities as may from time to be assigned by the Chief Financial Officer and/or Superintendent
