Performance Engineer
JOB MISSION
The mission of the Physical Security Performance Engineer is to provide support by troubleshooting, configuring, and maintaining enterprise-level access control, video system, and database applications while maintaining and executing on Northland Standards.
QUALIFICATIONS

  • Certified in or familiar with S2 Access Control Manager and S2 Net VR
  • Certified in or familiar with ExaqVision VMS
  • Understands AWS structures
  • Understand segmentation or partitioning in a system.
  • Experienced in configuring networks.
  • Experience and understanding of enterprise system architecture.
  • Certifications in Avigilon ACC/ACM, Genetec, Lenel, or CCure 9000 Access Control Systems and Video Management Systems are plus.

DUTIES*
Essential duties of the position include:

  • Test, program and troubleshoot access control and digital video systems.
  • Follow assigned projects through to final adjustment and commissioning of installed systems.
  • Support existing and expanding infrastructure in the cloud.
  • Troubleshoot system/network related issues.
  • Complete system health checks and preventative system maintenance including resource monitoring and log file audits.
  • Customize systems to tailor to customers’ business model.
  • Support project managers and construction project timelines
  • Programming physical security systems including access control, video management systems and other security integrations.
  • Back up Databases and maintain failover architecture.
  • Configure and monitor Video archiving and ACS event archiving.
  • Maintain device password programs.
  • Create and run custom reports.
  • Patch Servers and update panel and device firmware as needed.
  • Support local and remote SOC security technology stacks.
  • Carry out and drive installations to Northland and Client standards.
  • Create and maintain system documentation for customers.
  • To work in compliance with the company’s health and safety standards and requirements, with the safety of self and others in mind at all time.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to actively listen and problem solve.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE*
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or equivalent.
Valid driver's license.
PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Certifications in S2 Access Control Systems and Video Management Systems
Understand segmentation or partitioning in a system.
Experienced in configuring networks.
Experience and understanding of enterprise system architecture.
TRAVEL
This position may on occasion travel throughout the United States, out of the country, to other Regions and Northland Headquarters in Milpitas, California.
Travel up to 25% of the time.
WORK AUTHORIZATION
Must be authorized to work in the country of employment.
