Compensation: A Physician joining Family Care Networks Inpatient Hospitalist Service (IPS) as an Associate Provider, will be offered a salary based upon a per shift rate of $868 - $1,488 per day, depending upon shift length. In addition to the salary described above, a Provider receives a $5 per wRVU production incentive. Upon satisfactory completion of the Associate period, the Provider may become eligible for membership and receive approval to become a Member Provider at FCN.

Position information: Hospital care for adult FCN patients at PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center is supported by our own Inpatient Services (IPS) program. This hospital-based service is staffed by FCN physicians and advance practice providers who work only in the hospital, 7am to 1am.

Essential Functions: We are looking for a qualified, motivated individual with a passion for family medicine who can:

  • Utilize clinical knowledge and critical thinking skills to deliver safe, effective and therapeutic patient care in a variety of clinical settings.
  • Communicate effectively with hospitalists, primary care physicians, patients and family members
  • Provide excellent customer service at all stages of patient care
  • Encourage friendly, caring, supportive interactions with patients and their families
  • Establish patient trust and confidence and encourage patient dialogue
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation of patient care in the EMR
  • Participate in program development and quality review, adjust process and procedures as new information is provided, actively discuss and review hospital readmissions for learning purposes and to find areas for improvement

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Hospital, skilled nursing facility, or primary care experience required
  • Skill in subjective and objective assessment, planning, and evaluation of patient care
  • Comprehend and communicate information accurately and clearly (verbally, in writing, in person, and by phone) with patients, all levels of personnel, and other individuals and groups
  • Ability to establish lasting and effective employee relationships in a team environment, including conflict resolution
  • Work as part of a team that shares and leverages the strengths of its members
  • Accurately perform detailed work; plan, multitask, organize, and prioritize work
  • Intermediate computer skills using computer applications for health information systems, EMR, word processing, and spreadsheets
  • Ability to maintain patient privacy and confidentiality
  • Ability to adapt to process and procedure changes
  • Ability to thrive and grow in a learning environment

Qualifications

Required Education: Completion of an accredited program (MD/DO). Experience in Family Medicine

Required Licensure: Current Washington State MD or DO license

Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hand to finger coordination, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and listen attentively. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.

Immunization Requirements: All employees at Family Care Network (FCN) are expected to meet and maintain required immunizations as a contingency of employment. The immunization requirements are as follows: Influenza (annually), Tdap (after the age of 19), MMR, Varicella or a verified history of chicken pox disease, Two-step TST or IGRA (within the last 12 months), COVID-19 vaccine completed series and any additional immunizations determined necessary for the protection of staff and patients. Hepatitis B is also required for employees in positions with a high risk of blood borne pathogen exposure, which includes the following: Providers, RNs, LPNs, MA-Cs, PSRs at all Urgent Care Locations, and all-laboratory staff. The Hepatitis B vaccine is strongly recommended for all other employees. FCN will cover the cost of required immunizations for any FCN employee. All employee immunizations will be administered by FCN staff except for the COVID-19 vaccine. The COVID-19 vaccine can be administered at a participating pharmacy or other healthcare location. Note: A medical or religious vaccine exemption/reasonable accommodation will be considered by submitting a FCN Exemption form for review and evaluation by the Chief Medical Officer.
