Job Description: Plans Analyst Staff Action Officer

Background:
U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) G-3/5/7 Accessions Directorate requires a persistent operational, analytical, marketing and planning capacity for the Army Accessions Enterprise which is integrated in Headquarters (HQ) TRADOC G-3/5/7. A strategic requirement of the Army is Accessions, which is defined as those activities executed to market, contract, and ship citizens to Basic Training as Future Soldiers, as well as all those training pathways to commission as officers. TRADOC is the Army’s executive agent for Accessions and as such provides the Army with trained Soldiers and officers to meet the demand of the operational force. This contract is in support of TRADOC’s Accessions Directorate, which oversees this executive agency. The position is full-time, located at HQ TRADOC at Fort Eustis, Virginia, telework is authorized in accordance with TRADOC telework policy and will be approved at the discretion of the Accessions Director.

D uties and responsibilities:
  • Provide Plans subject matter expertise in support of the TRADOC G-3/5/7 Accessions Directorate
  • Assisting the TRADOC G-3/5/7 Accessions team with developing and processing staff actions
  • Support the development, scheduling and tracking of enlisted or officer recruiting briefs and other documents
  • Coordinate requirements with organizations inside and outside TRADOC/Army
  • Provide analysis, assessments, and recommendations to the TRADOC G-3/5/7 staff for planning and operational missions

Specific Tasks:
  • Coordinate, process and synchronize projects and written products, actions, information, and data associated with the Accessions Enterprise across the Army with the Army Staff, TRADOC HQ and subordinate elements
  • Facilitate synchronization of TRADOC accessions efforts in support of the Accessions Directorate and other TRADOC staff directorates to support TRADOC’s participation in different governance forums (in example, but not limited to: Army People Strategy – Board of Directors, Executive Steering Committee, Senior Leader Steering Committee, the TRADOC Campaign Plan, the Commander’s Update Brief, and the DCG’s Monthly Accessions Meeting), as well as any related activity
  • Be the point of contact (POC) for other elements of TRADOC HQ activities as pertain to Accessions. As POC, the Contractor shall coordinate, inform, and de-conflict Accessions activities with G39, PAO, TOMA and any other external activities
  • Collect information, data and supporting documents to answer Accessions actions within TRADOC
  • Prepare documentation and brief and prepare Senior Leaders for participation in Accessions-related activities to enable those leaders to make decisions
  • Develop Plans of Action and Milestones for each project upon initial assignment of work
  • Apply knowledge to accessions activities for Active Army, Reserve and National Guard forces for TRADOC
  • Coordinate with HQDA and other ACOMs as necessary to capture requirements within TRADOC
  • Write planning and operations orders
  • Review and analyze directives, plans, policies, and procedures of TRADOC and higher headquarters which pertain to the development and writing of applicable materiel in support of Army Accessions

Required qualifications:
  • Master’s Degree is preferred, but not required
  • Army accessions experience is preferred, but not required
  • Three years’ experience as part of Army G-3/5/7 (or equivalent Service organization) in an active component division staff or higher organization, developing plans, orders, succinct information papers, and briefings
  • Ability to review, analyze, and author Army/DoD regulations, OPLANS, contingency operations plans and policy pertaining to Army accessions activities
  • Must be comfortable briefing senior leaders.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Advanced skills with Office Microsoft Suite of Tools (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Eligible for Secret Clearance - US citizenship required
