SUMMARY

Responsible for the production operations of the facility. Oversees supervisors and managers to ensure Operations meet quality standards, production goals, on-time service delivery all while maintaining a safe work environment. Manages timelines and budgets; ensures technical performance; provides reports; and adjusts plans to address changes mitigate risks. Provides leadership to assigned teams. Serves as a point of contact for customers as necessary.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following:

  • Responsible for managing the day-to-day operations including the production, shipping and customer service functions.
  • Develops, oversees, and maintains scheduling, budgeting and technical performance.
  • Coordinates with the production teams and the various support functions to ensure that the work of individual task orders for each project is completed timely and fully meets all quality standards.
  • Assures proactive risk mitigation measures are employed.
  • Maintains contact with other functional managers and suppliers, concerning projects, operational decisions, scheduling requirements, and contractual clarifications.
  • Assists in coordination and development of bid proposals as needed.
  • Delivers status presentations to customers and leaders as needed.
  • Ensures regular contact with customers, keeping them informed of delivery and/or production schedules.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY

Lead assigned teams directly or through other leaders. Provides leadership for employee through effective communications, coaching, training, establishing goals and developing employees and leaders. Has the authority to hire/fire/promote and direct the work of others.

Sets work procedures, priorities, and allocates resources to meet production, cost, quality and shipment goals. Determines the means, methods, and materials for performing work. Ensures the efficient planning of work and the safety of employees.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree and ten or more years of leadership in a manufacturing operations or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior experience with government contracting and defense industry contractors is preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Demonstrated ability to lead large groups of employees directly or through others.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, product and service descriptions.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office software and web-based applications such as those used in manufacturing operations.
  • Must have strong interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, organizational and time management skill with strong attention to detail.
  • Must have the ability to work with cross-functional groups, coordinated work activities at all levels, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build internal/external relationships.
  • Ability to quickly understand technical problems and can formulate the best resources to resolve and implement technical solutions.
  • Ability to maintain a working knowledge of the competitive position of the company, its competitors, manufacturing and quality techniques and the current business climate.
  • Ability to maintain working knowledge of US Government contracting regulations (preferably related to the Aerospace & Defense industries).

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Required to spend time in manufacturing environment. Ability to move throughout the facility and communicate to employees. May require travel including overnight trips.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PLANT:

We are primarily an aerospace/defense product manufacturer. Our capabilities include machining (both Lathe and CNC), metal fabrication (including laser, waterjet), assembly, kitting. And then we also have a warehouse operation that provides distribution, kitting, and logistics for Telcom related products.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
