We have an immediate opening for a Plant Manager at our Glenshaw, PA manufacturing plant.

The Plant Manager is responsible for general supervision of all phases of plant operations including production, engineering, service, quality control, shipping/receiving and maintenance. Responsibilities also include assisting in recruiting, hiring and training of new plant personnel. The Plant Manager must also manage and communicate tactfully and diplomatically with the union and its members, while still protecting the Company’s interests.

This position requires an individual with the following competencies: leadership, communication, team building, decision making, problem solving and analysis, organization, negotiating, general business acumen and a strong level of technical/production aptitude.

Key duties include:

· Plan, organize, direct and run successful day-to-day operations of the plant.

· Establish and monitor overall plant performance (e.g., on-time deliveries).

· Provide leadership and appropriate training for plant personnel.

· Work closely with quality personnel to review product reliability and consistency.

· Review production schedules for all plant departments, ensuring that total manufacturing and distribution objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost effective manner.

· Create accountability for plant personnel and lead by example.

· Make sure that optimal inventory levels are kept while also operating at the highest efficiency possible.

· Maintain a safe working environment for all plant personnel, and adhere to all OSHA and ISO requirements and guidelines. Maintain required records and reports.

· Monitor projects and expenses that enable the Company to reduce costs while maintaining product quality.

· Assess the need for new capital equipment, and work closely with Purchasing to obtain the equipment at the best price/value point.

· Manage maintenance of the buildings and all capital equipment, including preventative maintenance.

· Control and minimize labor overtime, premium freight costs and repair expenses.

· Collect and analyze data to find areas of waste or inefficiency in production or distribution.

· Handle grievances and complaints diplomatically and within the limits of Company policy and union contract provisions.

· Handle personnel placement/advancement as appropriate, including but not limited to: terminations, transfers, promotions and wage/salary adjustments.

· Foster an environment of continuous improvement.

· Maintain high standards for plant cleanliness and housekeeping.

· Work and influence all plant personnel to perform their responsibilities with a customer-centric approach.

EDUCATION/SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:

· Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, business management, or a related field required.

· A minimum of five (5) years of experience as an Assistant Plant Manager or Plant Manager in an industrial/manufacturing environment.

· Computer literacy
