Job Summary:

To perform and assist with facility maintenance activities associated with the operation and maintenance of the Battery Changing equipment and Material Handling Equipment (MHE) batteries. Work may also include supporting other maintenance functions for buildings, equipment and grounds.

Schedule: Wednesday- Saturday

Shift: 7:00pm- 5:30am

Pay: Starts at $18.50/hr. and we pay more for experience


Job
Responsibilities:

  • The primary responsibility for this role is the operation of the battery changing machine to support the site’s Material Handling Equipment (MHE) and the maintenance (watering, PMs) for all MHE batteries.
  • Support sanitation by keeping assigned work areas clean and neat while working and at end of shift
  • Ensure assigned equipment, assets and systems operate efficiently and safely
  • Understand and comply with safety management, EPA and OSHA policies, procedures, and programs
  • Understand and use data from Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to complete proper and timely preventative maintenance, repairs, and record keeping as required
  • Ensure all paperwork is accurate, completed on time, and neat
  • Interact effectively and in a respectful manner even in difficult situations
  • Work with little direction and assist others
  • Continually displaying a conscious concern for personal and team member safety by assisting to provide the safest workplace possible
  • Safely operating and maintaining equipment
  • Reporting unsafe equipment, conditions, and behaviors to direct supervisor immediately
  • Take immediate action to correct safety issues
  • Treat building and equipment with respect and report all safety concerns
  • Identify and suggest possible equipment and/or safety improvements
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) policies and procedures
  • (If applicable and properly trained/certified,) Operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE) as required by position or as assigned by function
  • Follow and confirm proper lock out/tag out and permit procedures
  • Other duties as assigned


Required Experience and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED. College coursework, continuing technical education or comparable business experience preferred
  • Ability to use basic hand tools
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Able to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Ability to accommodate flexible schedules to meet the needs of the customer to include nights, weekends and holidays


Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

  • Warehouse experience
  • Experience operating Material Handling Equipment preferred
  • Basic knowledge of general construction, plumbing, electric, and hydraulic systems


Environmental Job Conditions:

  • Independently lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and 100 lbs. occasionally
  • Must be able to respond and perform physical demands of weather emergencies
  • Able to sit, stand, walk, bend, squat on a frequent to continual basis in a refrigerated warehouse environment
  • Ability to utilize good hand-eye coordination and depth perception to operate forklift, reach truck, and Hilo safely and accurately
  • Able to step up onto and down from equipment as required by task (such as forklift, reach truck, etc.)
  • Ability to work at elevated heights while wearing PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for the job (such as fall protection harnesses)
  • Able to adjust to fluctuating temperatures and withstand freezing temperatures as low as -20 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Ability to work in a noisy warehouse environment
  • Able to work while wearing appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for the job (such as steel-toed protective footwear, harness, safety glasses, hard hat, gloves, insulated clothing, etc.)
  • Ability to handle and physically be near products which may contain food allergens (such as fish, shellfish, peanuts, etc.)
  • Ability to utilize equipment for the job safely and accurately after training (such as computer, handheld tracker, copiers, scanners, printers, forklift, reach truck, etc.)
