We are currently seeking a plumbing technician at the journeyman or master level for our Penobscot Energy Services branch. The position includes planning and performing preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on plumbing systems, as well as maintaining the inspection backflow preventer and boilers database.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Maintains and repairs general plumbing components to include toilets, urinals, faucets, hose bibs, and drains.

• Installs, repairs, or replaces domestic hot and cold-water lines.

• Repairs and replaces steam to hot water exchangers for major building heating systems and pools.

• Repairs and replaces pneumatic steam valves, radiator valves, traps, and steam and condensate pipes.

• Repairs and replaces domestic hot water heat pumps, chilled water pumps, sump pumps, and sewage pumps.

• Installs, tests, and repairs all sizes of backflow prevention devices.

• Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.

• Provides sketches and dimensions used by drafters to create plans for subcontractor work.

• Research catalogs and vendor services for complex and/or customized system retrofits.

• Interprets and applies mechanical and structural blueprints to plan plumbing repairs and modifications.

• In coordination with management, assigns to and tracks corrective and preventive maintenance tasks given to subordinate plumbers.

• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

• Completes Accurate Work Orders with Follow Up Needs along with all Parts/Parts Numbers Used and Needed

• Effectively Communicates Service Performed, and when necessary, Follow Up Needed to the Customer

• Supports RH Foster’s Growth Initiative by Recommending Products and Services to Increase the Customer’s System Performance and Efficiency

• Foster’s a “Whole Team” approach when Communicating and Working with Dispatch, Office, Delivery and Fellow Service Technicians

• Maintains Personal Appearance in Accordance with RH Foster’s Standards of Excellence and wears the appropriate company uniform.

• Maintains Company Issued Vehicle in Accordance with RH Foster’s Standards of Excellence

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Possession of a current Maine Master/Journeyman Plumber/Gas Fitter (JPG) License.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a State of Maine driver’s license with a clean driving record. Must be certified by the Company in each of the following areas:

• Possession of a valid State driver's license is a requirement for this job.

• Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check.

• Successful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination.

• Maine Master/Journeyman Plumber/Gas Fitter (JPG) License

• Must be willing to obtain CDL Hazmat Endorsement
