Overview

Our expert staff provide multi-disciplinary solutions to complex energy and environmental issues. Key capabilities include science (chemical and mechanical). We employ a systems perspective that includes, discovery technology development and scale-up as well as economic, regulatory, and market acceptance issues necessary for successful technology commercialization. EP&MD focuses on three mission contributions: Clean Fossil Energy, Electricity Infrastructure, & Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy.


Responsibilities

We are seeking an outstanding scientist with a strong background in electrochemistry and materials science to join us. The successful candidate's primary responsibility will be the development of novel electrocatalytic materials and its integration in electrochemical energy devices, fundamental understanding of electrochemical interfaces, electrocatalysis processes. Applications include but not limited to hydrogen production, fuel cells, electrosynthesis, batteries. The candidate may also have the opportunity to explore new materials and chemistry for battery/energy storage in collaboration with a highly collaborative, highly productive, multidiscipline team. The candidate will also prepare manuscripts for publication, present the research work at national/international conferences, and develop new ideas for the funded research.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Candidates must have received a PhD within the past five years (60 months) or within the next 8 months from an accredited college or university.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • The candidate must have experience in one or more of the following areas: deep expertise in electrochemistry and electrocatalysis, strong background in materials synthesis and characterization for electrochemical energy applications; extensive knowledge and hands-on skills in electrochemical testing. Though this position mainly involves heterogenous electrocatalysis research, prior experiences or knowledge with homogenous electrocatalysis are desired.
  • Demonstrated record of publishing in first class journals and an ability to collaborate effectively on a teaming environment are required.
  • Must be safety orientated.
