The NIAAA-funded T32 training program in the School of Medicine at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center (LSUHSC) in New Orleans is currently accepting applications from outstanding candidates for a postdoctoral fellowship opportunity. Our rich scientific environment provides excellent training and career development opportunities with highly successful investigators performing rodent studies on the neurobiological alterations resulting from traumatic brain injury and their contribution to escalated alcohol drinking and increased neurotoxicity. The candidate will work with a multi-disciplinary team of investigators and receive interdisciplinary training in fields relating to traumatic brain injury, neuroimmune signaling, behavioral neuroscience of alcohol reinforcement, molecular biology, and electrophysiology. Diverse tailored opportunities for professional development and teaching will be made available to the successful candidate. The ideal candidates will have a productive research history evidenced by peer-reviewed publications appropriate for this career stage, and will be a highly motivated individual that is able to work both independently and as part of a team. The applicant will work in a highly collaborative environment located within the heart of New Orleans and receive an NIH-level stipend.
