Who We’re Looking For

We have an immediate opportunity for a 2nd shift (3 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.) Preforms Inspector. We are seeking a collaborative cleanroom team to inspect our products to ensure we are providing the best quality to our clients.

Job Functions/Requirements: Preforms Inspector

Primary job functions are listed below but may change without notice.

  • Conduct incoming and final inspection of preforms to assure they meet specifications and appropriate quality standards.
  • Fill out the proper documentation required and record the inspection results accordingly.
  • Clean preforms following process work instructions and guidelines required for handling, carrying, and storing.
  • Smoke & bake preforms to meet the production demand.
  • Clean petri dishes according to the process work instructions.
  • Assist NPD with all the test required to establish a cleaning procedure for new preforms.
  • Participate and maintain accurate preforms inventory in respective locations.
  • Assure that all inventory transactions are done correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Assist to organize, clean, and maintain the database of coating fixtures.
  • Comply with policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements per the LightPath Quality System.
  • Perform inventory counts as needed; daily, monthly or quarterly.
  • Follow the 5S program guidelines.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Knowledge, Abilities, & Skills You Need:

  • Collect data and analyze data skillfully.
  • Identify and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook.
  • Experience with microscope, micrometers, and calipers
  • Ability to read blueprints and interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Occasional exposure to the following: moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and risk of radiation.
  • High school diploma, GED, and six (6) months of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of experience and education
