Prep Cook Job at Canterbury Court
Canterbury Court is looking for a Prep Cook to join our family. This is a full-time position located in the Hospitality division of our Life Plan Community (LPC). We invite you to experience Canterbury Court. The Prep Cook must have a sincere desire to serve older adults. Constantly striving to provide the best in service through attention to detail and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Prepares all hot food items required on the menu for all meals
- Accurately prepares dishes according to recipes
- Prepares food items as required by following the production sheets
- Communicates daily regarding changes, problems special functions, etc.
- Records food temperatures each meal and serves at the acceptable level
- Washes all large equipment used in preparation with Sanitizer
- Keeps work area clean, sanitize bucket
- Utilizes all overproduced food items appropriately
- Wraps, labels, dates, and stores all over-produced food items
- Performs all duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education
Ability to read and write and implement own work schedule. Basic knowledge of the principles of food preparation and garnish as well as the ability to use certain kitchen equipment. Must be mentally alert and possess accuracy in measuring food ingredients and portions. Must be able to prepare foods of high quality in specified quantities.
Training and Experience
Experience desirable but not required. Training will consist of one (1) week on the job training.

The employee regularly is required to stand, walk, sit, use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently lifts and/or moves up to 10 pounds. Must be able to push a minimum of 200 pounds and be able to push such weight a minimum distance of 200 feet.
It may be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during an emergency.
Work areas may be subject to noise, distractions, and interruptions.
