We have an opening for an experienced prep cook.
We are a well-established, independent restaurant focused on fresh, modern cuisine highlighting Alaskan ingredients. A successful candidate will be willing to learn our menu, take direction from the Chef, and be self-motivated when it comes to efficiency and work-ethic. Qualities we are looking for:
- organized
- clean
- good knife skills
- some baking experience
- fresh pasta making
- ability to keep a current prep list
- work well with a team
- ability to be trained
Jack Sprat is located at the base of Alyeska Mountain in Girdwood, Alaska. We serve dinner 5 nights per week and serve a good mix of locals and tourists year-round. Our scratch kitchen is known for healthy alternatives while not compromising flavor. We feature vegan fare, Alaskan seafood, all-natural meats and decadent desserts. We are a stand-alone, independent, full service restaurant. Our dinner service is lively and customers enjoy quality meals with global influences paired with a nice selection of craft beer and affordable wines.
Some housing is available but very limited. The small community of Girdwood, Alaska is unique and friendly with access to Anchorage amenities just 40 miles away along a national scenic drive. If you are applying from out of state, you would fly into Anchorage, Alaska. We will provide transportation to and from Anchorage.
Girdwood has plenty of opportunity for outdoor recreation. There are abundant trails for hiking, biking, and skiing in the surrounding mountains. Access to the world famous Kenai Peninsula is just down the road.
Starting salary: Hourly rate is dependent on experience level and commitment. 2-3 Days Off per week. Meal discount 50%. 401K after one year.
Anchorage Municipal Food Worker Card is required or ServeSafe.
