Northrop Grumman’s Mission Systems has an opening for an Sr Principal Engineer Reliability/ Principal Engineer Reliability to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.

This position will be in Rolling Meadows, IL.

The Engineer will get to support multiple product lines in the Navigation, Targeting, and Survivability division. Candidate will be responsible for establishing, monitoring, and verifying subsystem R&M performance requirements and ensuring that R&M program requirements are achieved.

Responsibilities

  • Perform reliability predictions in accordance with industry standards.
  • Perform reliability and maintainability analysis such as Failure, Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) and Mean Time To Repair (MTTR).
  • Perform Root Cause and Corrective Action investigations in accordance with Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) processes.

This position can be filled the Senior Principal Engineer or Principal Engineer level:

Basic Qualifications Senior Principal Engineer Reliability:

  • 9 Years of engineering experience with Bachelor’s in Science from an accredited college/university; 7 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD.
  • Must have experience in a Systems Engineering Discipline.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications Senior Principal Engineer Reliability:

  • 5 years experience in Reliability and Maintainability Engineering discipline.
  • Understanding of electrical components, modes of operation, and failure modes.
  • Experience in Aerospace and Defense industry.

Basic Qualifications Principal Engineer Reliability:

  • 5 Years of engineering experience with Bachelor’s in Science from an accredited college/university; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD.
  • Must have experience in a Systems Engineering Discipline.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications Principal Engineer Reliability:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, or related Engineering.
  • 3 years experience in Reliability and Maintainability Engineering discipline.
  • Experience in Aerospace and Defense industry.
  • Understanding of electrical components, modes of operation, and failure modes.


Salary Range: $90,600 USD - $136,000 USD
Salary Range 2: $112,300 USD - $168,500 USD


Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
