About this Opportunity

Operate a Flexographic Printing Press and/or a In Line Print Press Machine. Set-up for orders, trouble shoots machine when it is down or not performing to standard ensures quality production and maximum efficiencies, recommends improvements in production methods, and participates in team activities. Lead their team of 4-5 persons in the efficient and safe operation of the Printing Press Machine.

Our teams work an alternative work schedule either 5 am to 5 pm or 5 pm to 5 am. The teams alternate work days such that they work a 4/3 schedule. This means one week they work 4 days, the next week 3 days. Work every other weekend. With this schedule there are 30 hours OT monthly since the first 10 hours worked are straight time and the other 2 are OT.

What you will do

• Sets-up machine to specifications outlined on the order
• Sets-up machine to standard set-up time & procedure
• Operates machine to standard production target and waste target
• Trouble shoots machine when it is down or not performing to standard
• Assists maintenance with machine repairs and preventive maintenance
• Responsible for ensuring that the day-to-day operation of the machine is consistent with the policies and procedures which make up the Quality System.
• Continuously improve the process as an individual and as a team member
• Ensures work area is kept clean according to AIB standards
• Ensures all environmental standards and requirements are met
• Provides direction to production operator and crew members
• Drives continuous improvement activities
• Performs inspections per Quality Procedure
• Cleans machine and area according to schedule
• Completes all required tracking forms (Job Plan, Shift Run Report, Quality Sheet, and checklists)
• Ensures materials are available for next order & next shift
• Sets the example of safe operation by following established safety guidelines; Follows established safety guidelines; holds self and others accountable
• Initiates and supports improvement initiatives
• Handles, prepares, and transport hazardous waste to 90 day storage area.
• Other duties as instructed by Supervisor
• Directs the work of the machine crew, which includes 1, or all of the following: operator or assistant
• Makes "run / don't run" call with input from supervisor
• Ensures everyone has the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), follows GMPs and works safely.

What you must have

• Understanding and working knowledge of basic Flexographic machine functions
• Reading, writing, and arithmetic
• Ability to measure with measuring tape
• Effective methods of engaging others to work towards a common goal
• Ability to provide clear communications to team and to service call out line technicians
• Must pass pre hire drug screening (incl. marajuana), background and hearing tests.

Physical Dimensions:Work is medium difficulty. There are 10-20 occurrences per day of heavy work. This occurs when shafts are lifted, on the average weighing 50 lbs. Shafts can be controlled by hoist equipment if available. Ink buckets weighing approximately 40-50 pounds must be handled but not carried more than a few feet

Compensation

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $25.00hourly in our lowest geographic market up to $29.99 hourly in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
