The purpose of the Tennis Court Maintenance/ Pro-Shop Assistant at The Bay Hill Club & Lodge is to ensure that the tennis courts and surrounding areas are clean and maintained in accordance with the high standards of the Bay Hill Club. Ideal candidate must have open availability, excellent customer service skills, and comfortable speaking with members and guests in a courteous and professional manner at all times. Primary duties will require the daily grooming and watering of all tennis courts, the maintaining of windscreens and court nets, as well as setting up and breaking down our ball machine.

Primary Responsibilities (Including but not limited to)

· Prepare the fast dry courts at least twice daily, more often if needed.

· Perform daily opening and closing procedures.

· Operate computer for Pro Shop register software as well as court reservation system.

· Enforce tennis rules and regulations.

· Keep merchandise neatly displayed.

· Greet members and guests that may come in contact.

· Ensure that equipment is handled and used properly.

· Report any equipment or other issues in need of repair to the Director.

· Operates all equipment related to tennis court maintenance.

· Perform any other duties that may be required by management.

Qualifications and Characteristics Required

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.

· Any combination of education or experience equivalent to the graduation of high school or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform to the position standards. High school diploma desired.

· Previous landscaping, turf maintenance or tennis court maintenance desired.

· Gas powered blower, roller, hand tools, drag broom, line sweeper, golf cart, operate ball machine and pump sprayer.

· Ability to speak and understand English well enough to receive and follow instruction.

· Ability to operate maintenance equipment.

· Ability to count and handle money in an accurate manner.

· Ability to operate and utilize a computer efficiently.

Physical/Mental Requirements

· Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.

· Must be able to endure long periods of standing, sitting and walking.

· Must be able to stand, run, bend and be active for long periods of time.
