Job Description
We are in search of a Process Control Engineer to work at our Lake Charles, LA manufacturing site, who will report to our Process Control Engineering Team Lead at the plant. The Process Control Engineer will be accountable for the management of site Process Control systems.
Responsibilities
- Supports the development and implementation of grace and Industry best practices (IEC 61511), Process Hazard Analysis (PHAs) including GMP and PSSR and Purchasing/GRs/New Vendors/Requisitions
- Implements process control standards and SOPs
- Provides process control support for project design and execution
- Troubleshoots DCS process control issues
- Manage DCS hardware infrastructure
- Ensures DCS System backup
- Implements functional description into DCS logic based upon LOPA
- Maintain DCS system documentation (Alarm, Interlock, P&ID) and the Honeywell PHD database.
- Verifies reliability and accuracy of equipment/instrumentation for the monitoring of process applications
- Conducts loop checks and DCS validation of new equipment
- Develop scopes on what programs are doing and conducts DCS user training
- Participates in safety programs and initiatives
- Supports & facilitates RCAs
- Writes and edits SOP/work instructions
- Conduct Management of Change (MOCs)
- Conducts and Supports Commissioning and Startup Activities, daily plant inspections of the control system and OIRs and incident investigations
- Redlines Engineering Drawings and Documents
- Manages and catalogs engineering documents, drawings, process information and updates for P&ID, MOC, Interlock Schedule, etc.
- Executes productivity projects
- Assists with emergencies
- Conducts data sourcing and analysis
Required Qualifications
- BS degree in Engineering discipline or Computer Science (Prefer Chemical Engineering). In lieu of BS, an AA degree with 5+ years of process control and instrumentation experience in a petro-chemical manufacturing plant
- 5+ years of process control experience in a petro-chemical manufacturing plant
Preferred Qualifications
- Honeywell Experion experience.
