Working with our local technical team and our corporate technical resources in Denmark, you will be directly responsible for process improvements in all facets of our operations. From multi-million dollar capex projects to simple troubleshooting, you will be our Findlay facility’s leader in continuous improvement.

We are a feed additive manufacturer that is a global leader in providing young animal nutrition to our customers. As a company, we have grown significantly, with this facility leading the way in growth over the last ten years. With five line expansions in that time and multiple capex projects every year, you will support our fully automated facility along with our onsite automation team to continue driving downtime lower each year and finding ways to boost output, all while providing the high-quality product our customers rely on.

Job Objectives:

  • Safety: Develop, promote and enforce safety in the workplace by actively demanding employees and contractors to work safely by setting and personally demonstrating safe work habits.
  • Work with the facility to prioritize and optimize ‘Key Performance Indicators” (KPI)
  • Provide general technical assistance to operations staff concerning the following: dry material handling, air flows, heat exchange, electricity and power, programmable logistical controllers (PLC), steam generation/use and liquid movement/storage.
  • Collaborate with facility management to define technical needs and Capex requirements, recommend Capex projects, evaluate Capex proposals for technical viability, and lead designated Capex projects.
  • Identify, promote, and coordinate implementation of best practices across the facility and assist with problem-solving and troubleshooting operational problems.
  • Demonstrate cost conscious and quality conscious decision making.
  • Interface effectively with other departments such as commercial, accounting, QA/QC, and procurement to assist with optimal execution of business needs.
  • Assist with review of production data routinely to ensure accuracy and to analyze for continuous improvements throughout the facility.
  • Occasional remote support of continuous improvement efforts at sister facility.
  • Ability to assist in day to day operations as needed.
  • Project design, development and management that are specific to the operations of an operating department.

Required Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.

- 5 years’ experience in process improvement or project management.

- Passing a mechanical aptitude test with strong problem-solving skills.

- Demonstrates project management and organizational skills.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

- Collaborative team player.

Preferred Qualifications:

- 2 years’ experience in the feed, food or biochemical industry.

- Experience in a highly automated facility, SCADA and/or Rockwell based is ideal.

- Experience leading Capex projects.

- Experience with root cause analysis techniques.

Physical Requirements:

- Able to lift and transport up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.

- Requires a full range of physical motion in order to move throughout the facility, including climbing stairs, ladders, and to work at heights.

Job environment may be dusty at times.

1-2 weeks of primarily international travel to our corporate office.
