TC Transcontinental Packaging brings a distinctive blend of Art, Science and Technology to create flexible packaging that preserves our customers' products and accentuates their brands on the store shelf. The Packaging Sector has over 4,000 employees and 25 facilities worldwide specializing in extrusion, lamination, printing and converting of plastic products.
What you will do
- Lead process improvements to increase throughputs, reduce waste, and improve quality within all flexible packaging processes (printing, extrusion, laminating, slitting, and other finishing).
- Work with operators and managers to develop standard machine processes and recipes
- Perform root cause analysis to troubleshoot manufacturing efficiency, quality, or waste issues
- Develop corrective action plans and teach operators how to prevent recurring problems
- Assist with the startup and commissioning of new process equipment
- Work with Product Development and Sales to develop and qualify new business, including process design and specification development through to qualification by customers.
- Assist in establishing raw material specifications with Procurement and Product Development.
- Help manage both raw material and customer product trials and scale-ups.
- Support and contribute to a healthy and safe work environment by following all workplace regulations, policies, and initiatives, including reporting all first aid injuries, accidents, and workplace hazards
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering required. Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering preferred.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred, but not required.
- Project management skills preferred.
