Produce buyer Job at Sunflower Market
We are a grocery chain with three stores in SW Florida and we're looking for somebody who knows and understands produce, produce buying and can drive a box truck. Specifically, this job would a 4am start arriving at the Tampa produce market well before sunrise, and buying produce, delivering to three stores. This job requires the following:
- Knowing produce prices, quality, and being able identify types, quality and palletize for delivery
- Heavy lifting is involved, with most boxes weighing in at 50 lbs, and most pallets weighing upwards of 1000 lbs
- Organizational skills are a must, keeping track of prices and stores
- CDL not required, but preferred. You'll be driving a 26' refrigerated box truck so a clean driving record is mandatory for insurance
- Drug testing at regular intervals
- Uber-reliabilty.
This is not a job for the faint of heart, but this could be a great job for the right person. Knowledge of produce and the produce market is a requirement.
