Product Safety Engineer Responsibilities:

• Be the expert and effectively document and communicate product safety
• Assess and highlight potential product safety issues based on intended product use and misuse
• Research and establish the applicable safety regulatory requirements
• Lead product safety reviews for new product
• Visit sites to conduct cause and origin investigations
• Interact with multiple groups and handle sensitive and confidential information
• Review manuals with product teams to ensure that proper safety warnings are listed

Product Safety Engineer - Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
• 3+ years of product safety experience (working with batteries, motors, Lithium-Ion Batteries preferred).
• Experience in Risk Management and working with regulatory standards
• Experience preferred with Insurance Site Investigations or similar
• Experience with CPSC requirements, processes, and procedures
• Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
• Proficient in MS Office
• Self-starting with solid follow-through and multitasking abilities
• Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and challenging workload
• Certified Fire Investigator is preferred, but not required
• Ability to travel domestically as needed, usually 2-day trips about 6-10 times each year.
