Where the Chemistry Happens…

Production Associate, 2202864 – Huntsville, AL

Principal Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all Lot evaluations if working in the Production Control Department.
  • Communicates and collaborate with Production Targeter to ensure that ready-to-coat slurry is available to coating operations as scheduled.
  • Communicates and collaborate with Analytical Lab personnel on data discrepancies and/or sample priorities.
  • Communicates and collaborates with Production Technicians to troubleshoot problem lots/slurries.
  • Communicates and collaborates with Process Engineering on problem lot evaluations and sample deviations.
  • Communicates and collaborates with Logistics on coordinating coating runs on CatTrack scheduling software.
  • Communicates and collaborates with Production Clerks on getting Production Lot tickets keyed in a timely manner and count issues resolved.
  • Manage customer needs, i.e. on time slurry deliveries to the coating department.
  • Must be able to manage resources and equipment i.e. tanks, dispersion, slurry heels.

Work environment/Physical demands

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to airborne particles and vibration.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, and feel as well as to reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee is frequently required to stand and sit.
  • The employee is occasionally required to walk.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • The use of personal protection equipment is required such as hearing protection, safety glasses, safety shoes, and gloves.
  • This position is currently a 12-hour position but employees need to be able to work any and all shifts as shift types and scheduling in this role may be subject to change. Incumbents must be able to work assigned overtime as required.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Basic qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with precious metal manufacturing and refining operations

Preferred qualifications:

  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Exhibit excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of PC based software and computer systems
  • Strong knowledge of Precious Metal accounting and control concepts
  • Proficient in SAP
  • Demonstrates the ability to influence others and collaborate for achievement. This will be primarily encountered through daily interactions with internal team members
  • Collaboration will also be required by supporting process improvements and small project team activities
  • Must have good training skills
  • Ability to make, update and analyze databases
  • Ability to fulfill a leadership role in the absence of the contact supervisor
