Job Summary

The Production Control Planner will be responsible for the tactical and strategic planning of the flow of materials to meet production schedules. They will coordinate and expedite production hardware from suppliers and within the department to meet production needs. This position collaborates with the Production Supervisor, Project Manager, Customer Support Manager, Production Clerk, Supply Chain Buyers, and Supply Chain Schedulers ensure continuous flow of materials and information related to support projects and customer delivery. They will be accountable for key metrics of increasing throughput, improving inventory turns, on time delivery, reducing lead times, and improving customer satisfaction.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following:

Tactical Execution

  • Track production hardware through each stage of the production process
  • Collaborate with various support teams to solve production issues
  • Work with other departments to ensure all applicable requirements are documented
  • Required to learn and effectively work within Visual MRP to efficiently coordinate and manage their project(s) that ensure UR’s high level of quality and on-time delivery are met
  • Review drawings, specifications, and other project documents as they pertain to their scope of responsibility
  • Prepare Packing Lists, obtains appropriate signatures and routes accordingly
  • Coordinate with inspection group and dispatcher to maintain product traceability
  • Other Duties as assigned

Resource Planning

  • Review and develop master production planning in coordination with the department supervisors
  • Analyze customer orders to establish production delivery schedules
  • Plan and monitor material movement throughout the production shop and at suppliers
  • Determine equipment, material, and manpower requirements for each work order

Strategic Planning

  • Maintain and improve ERP system for resource, manpower, and lead time accuracy
  • Develop and manage master planning, material processes and systems, prepare and update production schedules and purchasing needs
  • Review and develop capacity model
  • Introduce Lean Practices to eliminate process waste
  • Responsible for providing KPI and updating project dashboards

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) and four years of manufacturing experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college preferred
  • Experience in aerospace environment preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints for writing manufacturing procedures for shop use
  • Background and knowledge of Production Control Responsibilities

  • Previous experience in Production Control preferred

  • Ability to learn and utilize the company’s ERP and MRP systems
  • Able to use multiple data bases to track projects
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Infor Visual Manufacturing MRP preferred

  • Hiring Salary Range: $30.31/hr - $37.12/hr
