Job purpose
- The Production Manager is responsible for day-to-day management of fabrication and machining operations per planned production and forecasted requirements for the facility.
Duties and responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities include below tasks and other supporting functions to accomplish the same:
- Supervise employees and serve as technical lead in the fabrication and machining facility.
- Plan and assign work, implement policies and procedures and recommend improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures, and working conditions.
- Develop procedures, work instructions, and standard training plans on new equipment operation, part processes, and part quality inspection.
- Ensure operators are fully trained, and on schedule, to meet safety, quality, and production goals.
- Ensure production targets are met by assigning operators tasks and working with other departments.
- Ensure that established policies, rules, regulations, and procedures are followed.
- Assist management in hiring, training, counseling/discipline, performance appraisal, and assigning/prioritizing all work for subordinates.
- Ensure effective employee relations. Provide employee coaching and development. Resolve employee issues through problem resolution.
- Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety, morale, and continuous improvement activities to achieve positive results in all areas.
- Manage departmental performance measures, (KPI’s) including visual controls, and provide regular progress reports to the manager.
- Plan and manage technical/manpower capacity and consumables.
- Ensure that teams and team members have the necessary resources and training to accomplish department goals.
- Conduct individual and team coaching sessions to improve performance. Recognize team accomplishments.
- Conduct accident investigations, and support tracking absenteeism and time-keeping.
- Create a Preventive Maintenance plan for all machines and equipment, create work orders, and provide inputs to maintenance technicians for completing it.
- Other duties as assigned by direct supervisor.
Qualifications
Minimum education requirements: High School Diploma with specialized training in fabrication and/ or machining.
Preferred Education: College diploma in CNC machining and manufacturing.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years previous experience in CNC Machining and manufacturing environment as a supervisory and/or lead required, preferably within the automotive manufacturing industry.

Working conditions
This position requires work in an office and shop floor environment 50:50.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
