POSITION / TITLE: Production Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Production Manager (PM) is responsible for planning, organizing, and controlling production to ensure goods are produced safely, cost-efficiently, and delivered on time to meet required quality standards.

DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITY:

Performs the following responsibilities in accordance with policies and procedures, work rules, expectations, and behavioral standards.

  • Work with Scheduler to plan, adjust and control production schedule for multiple assembly lines.
  • Implement and regulate production schedules.
  • Assist with ensuring inventory levels are managed, accurate, and reported responsibly.
  • Manage employee and material resources to meet production targets.
  • Responsible for periodically reviewing labor and raw material inputs to provide recommendations for efficiency gains and input cost reductions.
  • Aid with the evaluation and implementation of new capital projects.
  • Document and enforce standard operating procedures for production operations.
  • Responsible for providing leadership, motivation, and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives.
  • Support Management by implementing company policies and provide accurate production and COG reports.
  • Contributes to a safe, accident-free, working environment by abiding by all safety procedures and policies, defined by the Valley Industries and OSHA regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned based on experience, skills, and business needs.

GENERAL POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • 6+ years of Management experience in a production environment.
  • Knowledge and experience in production and manufacturing processes and techniques.
  • Influential, encouraging, and motivating.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Nav or BC365.
  • Knowledge of quality systems and standards, able to create and document assembly processes.
  • Familiarity of human resource principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools. Mechanically inclined is a plus.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team.
  • Experience working in computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, and Access.
  • Excellent reading, writing, and communication skills.
  • Must have good problem-solving skills.
