At BlueOval SK, we will lead the transformation of the electric vehicle (EV) battery business through partnership (Joint Venture formed by Ford and SK On) to provide products and processes to increase our customers’ experience. As the future of BlueOval SK, you will help lead the battery revolution by working alongside our teams as we build the batteries required for electric vehicle business excellence.
Ford and SK On are investing billions in Kentucky and Tennessee including building three state-of-the-art battery manufacturing facilities between the two campuses at BlueOval City in Tennessee and BlueOval SK Battery Park in Kentucky. These brand-new advanced manufacturing facilities will use Ford’s 100-years of automobile manufacturing expertise and SK On’s 30+ years of electric vehicle battery expertise to become the world’s best battery manufacturer.
The Production Manager at BlueOval SK Battery Park in Glendale, Kentucky will have a unique, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be a key member of the start-up team, launching the facility from the ground up.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Confirm operating system standards are in place
- Enforce the usage / Utilize relevant reports, capture pertinent data / info, track and use data to always strive toward continuous improvement
- Manpower Management – Ensure the proper levels of manpower are maintained
- Understand Quality Control plans, ensure processes are enforced / adhered to
- Support issues raised by the teams
- Plan changes to the system
- Manage changes to the system
- Manage employee communication and recognition
- Develop highly competent and motivated people
- Create a conducive work environment for the team(s) to complete their assigned responsibilities / tasks
- Ensure completion of administrative responsibilities
Minimum Requirements:
- Education: High School Diploma
- Experience:
- Production leadership experience
- Strong ability to interface with plant hourly, salaried personnel and plant management
- Strong ability to present in front of plant management
- Competent in the use of data for decision making
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Excellent leadership skills with demonstrated ability to resolve diverse problems
- Need to work well under pressure and to be able to work under crisis management when necessary
- Having the ability to work and multi-task in fast pace environment
- Ability to work any shift in a 7-day pattern
- Successful candidate must be able to demonstrate leadership behaviors consisting of outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills
- Candidate must be flexible to significant travel during initial plant start-up phase
- Candidate must be willing to work remotely and in-person at temporary facilities as needed during initial plant start-up phase
Preferred Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience:
- 5+ years of Manufacturing Leadership experience
- 6-sigma designation preferred
- Strong analytical skills and quick decision making capability preferred
