RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:
1. Production
- Inspect and clean railcars
- Operate front-end loader to move railcars into position for cleaning and loading
- Operate front-end loader and bobcat to clean up around mine and plant areas
- Operate front-end loader or dozer to feed stone into tunnel feeder
- Operate end dump truck
- Operate Oil Treatment System
2. Reporting
- Complete daily equipment checklist
- Submit the daily equipment checklist to the plant superintendent
- Complete railcar inspection sheet
3. Maintenance
- General maintenance work, as directed
4. Safety
- Enforce and complying all company, local, state, and federal safety policies and procedures
- Attend safety meetings
- Complete Pre-shift Work Place Examinations
5. Quality System
- Maintain the validity of all documentation affecting this position
- Maintain the validity of all procedures affecting this position
6. Training
- Provide on-the-job training, as assigned
- Verification of on-the-job training, as assigned
7. Backup
- To back up other Utility Operators
- To back up Plant Operators
- To be backed up by other Utility Operators
- To be backed up by Plant Operators, Plant Superintendent, and Plant Manager
8. Clean Up
- All areas under and around conveyor belts
- All yard areas
- All areas around dry plants
9. Perform other duties as assigned
ATTRIBUTES:
- Must be able to work shift work, seven days a week including holidays and be flexible to schedule changes
- Must have a telephone and be open to call-outs

- Must be able to work 12 hour shifts for an extended day period during plant outages
- Proven self-direction and leadership abilities
- Good analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects and meeting all required deadlines

- Must be able to effectively communicate and interact with supervisors and peers
- Must have a telephone available and be receptive to callouts
- Good decision making skills regarding safety
- Knowledge of basic computer skills
- Previous experience operating heavy equipment is desired
- Ability to read, write, and interpret documents such as work orders, blue prints, mechanical drawings, safety rules, standard operating procedures, maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals
- Knowledgeable of current environmental regulations and practices as they relate to the lime industry
Physical Demands include, but are not limited to:
- Access all areas within a site which could include heights of 120 feet, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs, and accessing tunnels
- Must be capable of performing the essential job duties required in this position
- Will be working at times in office environment but mainly in a mining environment
- The employee will be exposed to the following working conditions: Extreme Heat and Cold, Noise, Vibration, Oils, and Atmospheric Conditions such as Dust, Fumes, and Mineral Particles
- The employee will be required to perform the following actions (from time to time): Standing, walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, talking, seeing, hearing and sitting
- Ability to consistently lift over 50 pounds as needed
Required Experience: 1 year of heavy industrial experience
Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent
