Job Title: Production Planner

Summary/Objective

Essential Functions

1. Plan and manage the finished goods and WIP production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements based on open sales order and forecast and best utilize the company’s productive capacity.

2. Create and release daily production jobs in ERP system and hand out to production team.

3. Generate staffing plan based on production schedule and align capacity with production needs; work with Production Supervisor and HR to increase or reduce manpower level accordingly.

4. Manage raw material, manufactured finished goods and MRO inventory at appropriate levels.

5. Purchase all necessary production raw materials to meet daily production requirements by having the right materials of the right quantity at the right price delivered at the right place at the right time.

6. Receive raw materials offsite on a timely basis to ensure production continue.

7. Monitor vendors’ performance based on metrics such as timely delivery, accuracy, and quality.

8. Communicate with manufacturing team on production target output frequently.

9. Learn lean manufacturing principles, develop plans for streamlining processes to continuously improve the efficiency.

10. Interface effectively with supply chain, production, sales, customer service, maintenance, accounting, and shipping teams to provide better customer service level and solve internal issues.

11. Notify customer service team foreseeable order shortages based on current inventory level, scheduled production and open sales order on a weekly basis.

12. Coordinate with production to arrange rework plans.

13. Arrange/assist in inventory count and annual inventory audit to maintain the inventory accuracy.


Competencies, Knowledge and Skills

1. Good time management, priority management and high sense of urgency. Able to escalate important issue and handle day to day issue.

2. Able to maintain monthly forecast and catch the sales trend to adjust production schedule timely.

3. Possess technical ability to understand manufacturing process and schedule maintenance time off to secure production output.

4. Must be resourceful and able to synthesize new ideas/change plan quickly to solve problems.

5. Able to provide corrective action plan and be proactive.

6. Strong ownership and team player.

7. Must have superior communications skills which can easily convey ideas across organization and external partners.

8. Extremely detail oriented and data driven to make decision.

9. Must have ERP system experience, especially MRP, inventory and purchasing module.

10. Preferred to have WMS experience.

11. Must have strong analytical skills and proficient at Excel.

12. Must have at least one year of industry experience, prefer in manufacturing.

13. Must be able to work in a fast place work environment.


Education

1. Bachelor’s Degree is required, major of supply chain management or industrial engineering a plus.

2. APICS CPIM/CSCP/CLTD is a plus.

3. Six Sigma certification is a plus.
