Maintains the right to operate as it applies to safety, quality, and compliance. Takes ownership in strategic and tactical initiatives with regard to machine operations. Acts as a liaison between Production and technical support departments to ensure optimized productivity, quality and safety of the equipment. Coordinates activities with all stakeholders and ensures a holistic and systemic approach is taken to proactively mitigate equipment downtime. Engages others to work upstream and/or downstream of the production equipment to balance the flow of materials and information as it applies to production scheduling and changeover sequencing. Inspects and measures components to verify compliance with applicable drawings and specifications. Works collaboratively with individuals and teams to prepare for and engage in process and machine innovation. Fosters teamwork, collaboration, and learning by assisting in the development of implementation action plans, process documentation, conflict resolution, and after-action follow up.
Possesses the desire and ability to pursue continued educational opportunities for certification and actively pursues new knowledge in modern technology and best practices to support process and machine improvement initiatives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform operation, Quality checks, set-up, adjustments and basic preventative maintenance on primary and secondary operation production, finishing and packing equipment.
  • Perform machine tolerance checks.
  • Maintain tooling, proactively manages tooling wear, controls spares, and oversee installation of tools for secondary operation machinery.
  • Perform predictive and preventative maintenance for tooling and equipment on secondary operation machinery..
  • Prepares and tests all equipment for safety and productivity prior to production run.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams and provides ideas for continuous improvement.
  • Working knowledge of applicable part numbers, part cost, materials, and processes.
  • Monitors consumption of inventory and non-inventory materials to mitigate stock outs.
  • Proficient at reading and understanding drawings and work orders.
  • Proficient at performing In Process Inspections, Final Inspections, and dimensional inspections of key characteristics and other attributes utilizing inspection devices (such as micrometer, caliper, optical measurement equipment, etc.)
  • Proficient in computer skills to complete work order posting requirements, loading and printing labels, issuing material, and verify count operations.
  • Accurately completes all required documentation.
  • Proficiently applies Lean work practices.
  • Possess mechanical aptitude.
  • Applies knowledge of general safety and organization (6S), Safety Data Sheet (SDS), and Foreign Object Damage (FOD) requirements.
  • Applies knowledge of Quality and Environmental Management System (QEMS).
  • Conducts SPC, reaction plans, and executes control plans as necessary.
  • Awareness and understanding of MRB, Scrap, and NCR Processes.
  • Report immediately all suspicious and hazardous conditions to a supervisor.
  • Understand and observe all safety guidelines and assure quality and safety by complying with all appropriate Click Bond policies and procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining clean, orderly and hazard-free work areas.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision, be a self-starter and be detail oriented.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Ability to communicate effectively via verbal and written forms.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Basic computer navigation skills and experience with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, MRP software, and Maintenance Connection.

  • Must be able to perform duties from recall, written instructions, and visual aids.
  • Ability to have uninterrupted engagement with duties for periods up to 4 hours.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
  • Technical school preferred
  • 2-5 years production machine operator experience; or, demonstrated knowledge, skills, ability in a manufacturing environment.
  • An equivalent combination of the above education and skills.
  • Must have a good command of the English language, both written and verbal.
  • Must be familiar with Manufacturing Drawings.
  • Must have basic Math skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Light physical effort equal to frequent lifting or moving or lightweight materials. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Use of hand/fingers continuously through shift to manipulate components, tools, etc.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly required to sit or stand for the length of shift, bend and reach.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Common industrial chemical and fume exposure will account. PPE will be worn where required.
  • Hot & cold work condition exist, and adequate PPE is required.
  • Assignments to perform work outdoors and indoors can be expected.
  • Exposure to electrical current and potential shock, natural and compressed gases, moving parts and equipment are routinely encountered.
  • Noise levels can exceed 85 db. When applicable, ear protection must be worn.
