JOB DESCRIPTION - Location - Bayfield, CO
TITLE: Program Assistant
DEPARTMENT: Program
REPORTS TO: Site Coordinator

The Club@ Bayfield is being provided (free to families) by the Bayfield School District, Fridays from 7:30am until 4:00pm.
K-8th gr kids will attend the Club@Bayfield, located at the Bayfield Intermediate School (720 Oak Drive).

JOB SUMMARY:
With the assistance of the Site Coordinator, a program assistant plans, implements, supervises and evaluates all programs and activities provided at a Club site or program area. Program Assistants may be assigned to different Club sites as needed.

WORK SCHEDULE

7:15AM-4:00PM Fridays (Part-time), opportunity for program planning hours. Total of approximately 10 hrs/week

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Promote safety of members, quality in programs, and appearance of the
Club site at all times.

2. Provide guidance and role modeling to members.

3. Promote and stimulate program participation, welcome new members and participate in their orientation process.

4. Participate in weekly staff meetings.

5. Assist in planning and conducting programs and activities.

6. Recognize members for participation in program activities.

7. Maintain the cleanliness of the program area on an ongoing basis.

8. Maintain daily contact with club staff, club members, supervisor and volunteers to receive/provide information, discuss issues, and understand guidelines/instructions.

9. Follow all Covid-19 procedures and protocols

10. Performs other duties as assigned.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE PREFERRED:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Experience in working with children.
  • Knowledge of youth development.
  • Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.
  • Ability to deal with the general public.
  • Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth.
  • Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.
  • Mandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications (or the ability to be certified).
