About Pueblo Regional Center


The Pueblo Regional Center (PRC) is one of three state-operated Regional Centers providing quality, specialized services and supports to individuals with developmental disabilities by promoting growth, participation, contributions, and capabilities. The Pueblo Regional Center manages nine group homes throughout the Pueblo West community, licensed to serve 88 individuals. PRC provides 24/7 care and treatment in home-like settings, while offering day programs; therapeutic, nutritional and health services; vocational opportunities; and specialized habilitation.
This work unit exists to provide support to the Director and Senior Residential Director for Pueblo Regional Center and overall administration for both internal and external programs and activities.

Description of Job

About the Position:

This position provides administrative, logistical and professional support to the Pueblo Regional Center (PRC) Director and Senior Residential Director. Additionally, this position supports day-to-day operations including verbal and written communication and correspondence, scheduling and maintaining their calendar, meeting agendas and minutes, organizing, tracking and finalizing routine and reports, and monitoring/tracking regulatory compliance initiatives. This position also serves as a point of contact and support for a wide range of internal and external customers and CDHS staff. This position serves as a key coordinator of activities and services at PRC including assessing problem situations, resolving issues and/or directing individuals to the appropriate person or area to resolve the problem. The PRC Director and Senior Residential Director travels, therefore, this position must be able to work independent of constant supervision, with strict prioritization and self-motivation in order to uphold and maintain operations and professionalism of PRC while assuring that internal and external customer needs are met. Duties in this position include:

Director and Senior Residential Director Support:


  • First contact for Director and Senior Residential Director’s office, triage-incoming requests, determines when to send requests to a higher authority.
  • Manages projects and compiles final product for review and approval.
  • Manages Director and Senior Residential Director’s calendar.
  • Maintains travel card files to include making appropriate travel arrangements.
  • Schedules meetings, arranges meeting rooms and appropriate materials, takes and distributes meeting minutes.
  • Processes the EL&R Intake forms and completes administrative leave documents for all staff as directed by the Director and/or the Senior Residential Director.
  • Develop memos, letters, forms, tables and graphs as needed by the Director and/or Senior Director.
  • Manages supervisory files and other confidential files.

Office Management/ Administrative:
  • Provides technical guidance to internal/external stakeholders and CDHS staff.
  • Creates, revises, and implements internal procedures related to workflow, coverage, correspondence, and timeliness.
  • Conduct quarterly checks of internal procedures to ensure effective and efficient systems are in place.
  • Tracks incoming requests for Director and Senior Residential Director approval including developing and managing submittal procedures.
  • Prepares meeting agendas and records meeting minutes for the Leadership Team, Emergency On-Call, Guardian and PRC All Staff Meetings.
  • Serves as the agency’s operational liaison with PRC and DRCO utilizing a state vehicle for travel.
Other Duties as Assigned:
  • Position may occasionally require travel between remote work sites.
  • This position performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights

Minimum Qualifications

Five years of experience in an occupational field related to the work assignment.

Substitutions

Appropriate education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis for basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Good work history
  • Ability to compose professional documentation utilizing Google office products
  • Ability to verbally communicate in order to promote clear and effective communication
  • Experience triaging and managing a calendar for profession staff
  • Excellent Customer Service Skills

Conditions of Employment

The successful candidate in this position must be willing and available to submit to the following conditions:
  • Must be willing to submit to and able to successfully pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted Colorado Driver's license.
  • Travel- Must utilize a State vehicle to run errands, manage fleet vehicles, and/or attend trainings/seminars
  • Former State employees who were disciplinarily terminated or resigned in lieu of termination must disclose the information on the application and provide an explanation why the prior termination or resignation should not disqualify the applicant from the current position. Absent extraordinary circumstances, prior disciplinary termination or resignation in lieu of termination will disqualify the applicant from future State employment with CDHS.
  • On or after October 31, 2021, each facility shall ensure all newly hired employees or support staff members are fully vaccinated at the time of hire or receive their first dose of a two-dose protocol, or a single-dose vaccination, prior to providing any care, treatment, or other services for the facility and/or its clients. Upon hire, new employees will have three (3) business days to provide attestation to their status with proof of vaccination. Vaccinated employees must provide proof of first dose prior to providing care.

Note: Fully Vaccinated means two (2) weeks after a second dose in a two-dose series of the COVID-19 vaccine, such as the Pfizer, Moderna or Novavax vaccine, or two (2) weeks after the single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine.

Appeal Rights:
