Program Coordinator YMCA Before/After/Summer Camp Job at YMCA of Catawba Valley
Under the direction of the Senior Program Director of Childcare and consistent with the Christian mission, the School Age Site Director is 100% dedicated to the program site location and is responsible for the oversight of the afterschool program in partnership with the collaborating school. The School Age Site Director serves as the primary contact to the school administration, faculty, parents and helps establish the program at the assigned school.
- Coordinate the day-to-day operation of the after school program.
- Provide daily supervision and activities for a group of program participants.
- Collaborate with the Childcare Administrative Assistant to ensure that all program activities are planned and implemented in compliance with all required policies of the YMCA of Catawba Valley, state, and federal regulations.
- Create, complete, review, update, revise, store, and maintain records as required.
- Provide orientation and ongoing support for program staff, including coordinator assistants, group leaders, tutors, and volunteers.
- Coordinate with the schools administration, teachers, and other community partners to successfully implement the program and meet participants' needs.
- Plan and implement meaningful opportunities for parent, family, and community engagement with the YMCA program on a regular basis.
- Parent Communication through daily check ins and monthly newsletters.
- Models inclusive behaviors and embraces all dimensions of diversity.
- Serves alongside group leaders, engages children, and stays involved at levels of the program.
- Builds and maintains relationships with children and families; makes daily contact with all children and their families.
- Communicates effectively with Director of Childcare and Senior Program Director at all times.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma required
EDU 119 Required
Prefer Early Childhood Associates or B-K Bachelors Degree from NC accredited college
At least 18 years of age
2 years experience working with children in a developmental setting required.
Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities.
Previous experience with diverse populations. Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds.
Applicants should have a desire to work in a career field that involves children and families.

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
