CHD is seeking a dynamic professional to oversee a Juvenile Justice Program in Springfield, MA. The Program Director provides administrative leadership, direction, and oversight of a program for female juvenile offenders who are court-involved and referred by the Massachusetts Department of Youth Services (DYS). The program provides detention, stabilization and short-term treatment services in a residential environment. The program is designed to build on the residents’ strengths, to empower girls while helping them to make positive life changes, and utilizes the Relational-Cultural Theory to ground its work.
The Program Director is responsible for hiring, training, budget development and maintenance of relationships with the regional and state funding source. The Program Director is also responsible for monitoring the operations of each program component including compliance with licensing and accrediting organizations, program design, and administrative supervision of clinical and residential components and ensures adherence to the programs treatment philosophy.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s degree preferred) and 3 years’ experience in criminal justice and or human service related field with a focus on 24-hour residential treatment. Clear knowledge of working with female offenders and an understanding of trauma-informed treatment. The optimal candidate will demonstrate a commitment and enthusiasm for the mission, goals and objectives of the agency as well as demonstrated experience in managing complex budgets, personnel issues, and service delivery needs of clients.
