POSITION SUMMARY:
Oversees a program; including development, management, quality service delivery, and customer satisfaction that are in alignment with CHSW’s mission, vision, and values. Provides guidance and leadership to staff members who work in the program. Ensures the effective and efficient utilization of staff, fiscal resources and facilities. Has access to protected healthcare information (PHI) or confidential identifiable information (CII), both paper and electronic, as necessary, to perform related job duties and responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provides leadership, direction, and supervision to program staff
  • Develops and implements goals and objectives of a CHSW program in coordination with CHSW’s Strategic Plan
  • Ensures contract compliance for the program
  • Ensures that all records and statistics are appropriately maintained and reported to ensure compliance with governmental grant regulations and program standards
  • Provides for quality assurance in the program or center-directed services
  • May conduct an annual assessment and evaluation of programs
  • Monitors the program budget and maintains appropriate records and documentation for grant and contract compliance
  • Develops program planning and implementation with other programs to facilitate integrated services and access for families
  • Oversees the day-to-day operational requirements of the program or a family center and/or its satellite support facilities
  • Acts as a facilitator of communications and mediation between partner agencies and community organizations
  • May work closely with community organizations, schools, and partners to ensure an integrated approach to assist the program’s targeted population
  • May develop, coordinate and market parenting classes and family activities
  • May serve as the coordinator for any support center and/or satellite sites
  • May serve as the liaison between CHSW and child care partners
  • May serve as the Disabilities Coordinator
  • Advocates for the values of a diverse population within CHSW and the Community
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of family support principles and practice, early childhood development and family development
  • Demonstrated successful community organizing or ethnic community outreach experience
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Must possess strong human relations skills to communicate and work effectively within a culturally diverse work environment and community
  • Proficient in MS Office

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
This job is performed in a professional office environment. The following list is representative of the work environment employees encounter while performing the essential functions of this job:

WORKING REMOTELY:
Working remotely is a benefit of Children’s Home Society of Washington’s flexible workplace, but remote work cannot be offered for all positions. Some positions require daily presence in the office. Remote work arrangements may be adjusted or rescinded based upon business needs.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard; occasionally to reach, stoop and kneel
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work
  • Regular, predictable attendance is required

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Three years of community/educational outreach experience or a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English
  • Agency affiliated counselor credential if applicable to the program (after hire)
  • Direct service experience with children and families of targeted population
  • 2 years demonstrated supervisory experience, which reflects progressive responsibilities in hiring, firing, training, performance evaluations, conflict resolution and disciplinary counseling
  • If working in a Direct Service Program: A one-step Mantoux TB skin test prior to start of employment. For those who have previously tested positive, documented proof of treatment from a doctor or a negative chest x-ray must be provided
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check and be capable of obtaining jail clearance
  • Successful completion of a drivers check if position requires driving on a regular basis (at least three times per week) or drives consumers. Must not have more than two driving incidents within the last three years

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA degree in social work or related field

SALARY RANGE AND BENEFITS:
The salary range for this position is $24.56-$34.39. The starting salary range for this position is $24.56-$27.02 DOE for external candidates.

Employees will also receive 10 days of vacation leave each year, one personal day each year, and will accrue one sick day per month (pro-rated for part-time employees).
