Project Engineer II – Westborough MA

The Project Engineer II is an active member of the Customer Focus Team (“CFT”). The PM is responsible for developing a robust process based on customer requirements. Work with other engineering specialties, such as test, Valor, DFM, part substitutions and end-of-life, to coordinate additional requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all ESD requirements and Board Handling.
  • Use of Moisture Sensitive Device (MSD) handling requirements based on component moisture sensitive levels (MSL).
  • Evaluate and solve problems as they occur.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements.
  • Oversee / monitor operations to assure quality (QMS/OCuity review for process improvements).
  • Review proposals regarding acquisition of process equipment.
  • Participate as an active member of the CFT.
  • Validate customer documentation and proper load into ERP.
  • Develop and implement production processes - generate MPI documentation.
  • Develop and implement process controls IAW Quality Standards.
  • Generate and validate product MPI.
  • Utilize systemic approach for yield improvement, improves manufacturing and test processes.
  • Integrate ECO requirements into product/process documents.
  • Provide technical solutions to customer and manufacturing team.
  • Responsible for ensuring Labor/Takt time standards.
  • Provide quotations for ECO implementation, paid rework, design revisions.
  • Responsible for interpreting DFM/DFA results to the customer and interacting on opportunities and improvements.
  • Coordinate NPI production activities and works with manufacturing for defining the process requirements.
  • Responsible for development of manufacturing tooling, profiles, necessary programs/software for execution in the factory.
  • Support and follow all ISO standards related to OnCore’s various Quality Management Systems. These systems may include, but are not limited to, quality, the environment, health, safety and security.
  • Support all corporate and site 6S objectives.
  • Perform other duties, as required.

Qualifications

  • Ability to utilize electronic manufacturing system .
  • Ability to train to IPC-A-610.
  • Work independently.
  • Make minor adaptati nons to standard techniques.
  • Review and understand DFM analysis - develop processes to mitigate design challenges/issues.
  • Joint problem solving.
  • Work methods (not content) are reviewed for sound engineering judgment.
  • Process design.
  • Test and process studies.
  • Research and investigations.
  • Larger projects requiring plans, longer term, less repetition.
  • More general direction with objectives and emphasis
  • OJT (no formal experience).
  • Equipment and process validation.

Experience/Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or similar discipline.
  • 7-10+ years hands on experience in electronics assembly industry.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and related applications
  • Bottom of Form
