Certification(s) in project management required, such as PMI PMP, SaFE Agile or Scrum Master. PMP is preferred.
Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in project management, business, communications, or general management highly desired, a university or college degree/diploma is required to start. Master’s degree preferred. Equivalent years of experience will suffice in lieu of a degree
Required Experience:

Position Description:
Our company is seeking an experienced Project Manager to manage multiple communications and networking projects for Southern Command out of its headquarters located in Doral (Miami) Florida.
Strategy & Planning
:

Work with customer capability owner to define project scope, goals and deliverables that support organizational goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
-
Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
-
Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
-
Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
-
Track project milestones and deliverables.
-
Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas.
-
Work with customer capability owner to define project success criteria.
Acquisition & Deployment
:
-
Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
-
Draft and submit budget proposals and recommend follow-on budget changes as needed.
Operational Management
:
-
Direct and manage project from beginning to end.
-
Develop full-scale project plans and communications documents.
-
Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
-
Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
-
Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
-
Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
-
Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.

Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge & Experience
:
-
10+ years direct work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of project management processes and execution.
-
Strong familiarity with project management software, such as Microsoft Project Client, or Excel based work breakdown structures.

Experience working with DISA or a CCMD J6
-
Experience managing projects in two or more of following areas: Land Mobile Radio, Trunked Radio, long-haul leased communications, cable plant install or upgrade, patch facility install or upgrade, cross domain network systems, NIPRnet, SIPRnet, CENTRIX, BICES, IPv6, VTC
