Position Highlights
The Project Manager supports the interdisciplinary, effective, equitable, and inclusive work of the UArizona Comprehensive Pain and Addiction Center projects. The Project Manager is responsible for project management activities including initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, and completing projects on budget and on time. The Project Manager works directly with all team members and in collaboration with the CPAC leadership team and Principal Investigator to meet and exceed project deliverables and successfully provide services to Arizona communities. This is a hybrid and flexible remote and in-office position. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is required.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Operations: Manages and performs daily operational activities for projects including administration, finance, IT, compliance, communications and outreach and other activities.
  • Project Management: Develops, implements and tracks project work plans. This can include monitoring project scope of work, timelines, deliverables; identifying and reporting issues (e.g. monitoring budget expenditures, changes to scope of work, timelines, or deliverables), and identifying and performing quality improvement efforts.
  • Communication: Coordinates with team members, project leadership, community members, and health professionals to ensure achievement of project outcomes, secure resources and provide updates.
  • Planning: Participates in the design and development of project knowledge resources (e.g., databases, documentation, HowTo policy manuals).
  • Reporting & Publishing: Manages and participates in reporting requirements quarterly and as needed. Participates in publishing if and as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn Asana (project management tool), SharePoint and UA Box (document storage tools), Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Qualtrics or REDcap (assessment tools) independently, among other project tools.
  • Skilled in developing knowledge around best practices in health care and able to read and understand health science evidence and best practices.
  • Skilled in basic budget management.
  • Ability to work with people with life challenges, such as those living with chronic pain, substance use, and/or mental health concerns —interest in achieving health equity for all and invested in diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Ability to manage multiple timelines and project deliverables.
  • Ability to use healthy communication with team members, project leadership, community members, and health professionals.
  • Ability to lead project teams to meet and exceed project goals and to use dynamic leadership styles to influence the work of others.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
  • Three (3) years of relevant work experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Graduate degree in public health, social work, management, or other relevant program.
    • Knowledge of health promotion/substance use/marijuana policies/harm reduction/social determinants of health.
    • Individuals who self-identify as being a parent or family member of an individual with a substance use experience or individuals with lived experience of behavioral health and/or substance use recovery.
