Maintenance Supervisor Job Description

Summary

Manage all installation, repair, and upkeep operations of our Company’s equipment and facilities. Your duties will include maintaining all equipment, planning repair activities, and developing maintenance procedures and best practices.

Principal Responsibilities

1. Repair and Maintenance

a) Maintain, repair, and manage company's equipment and facilities.

b) Create repair plan and implement for Company's equipment and facilities.

c) Improve maintenance procedures by utilization of best maintenance practices.

d) Conduct regular inspections of the plant to detect and resolve issues related to equipment, keep records of documents, and update blueprint.

2. Installation

3. Ensure all Company's equipment and facilities comply with OSHA requirements.

4. Train and qualify Company associates to operate equipment facilities.

5. Ensure no environmental spills.

6. Create and implement maintenance procedures and schedules: SOP’s, PSM’s, PM’s, etc.

7. Conduct regular inspections of the plant to detect and resolve problems related to equipment (e.g., HVAC, compressed air, boiler operation, water treatment filtration system, production lines, process security, wastewater treatment) and facilities.

8. Ensure all department employees comply with Company and OSHA safety policies and procedures.

9. Assign repair schedules and evaluate repair cost estimates.

10. Oversee equipment stock and place orders for new supplies when necessary.

11. Provide technical assessment of equipment to determine what components should be repaired or replaced to maximize equipment performance.

12. Perform all other tasks related to the above responsibilities.

Management retains the discretion to modify or add duties to the position at any time when the need arises.

Position Requirements

· Minimum of 5 years of experience in a food manufacturing environment

· Safety Management and Risk Management experience

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Detail oriented and organizational skills

· Proficient computer skills in spreadsheets; data bases, and word processing

· Excellent technical knowledge of equipment, products, and processes

· Strong background in HAACP, workplace safety, and SQF

· Good knowledge of PLC skills

· Must have a hands-on work ethic

Benefits Highlights

· Insurance: You are eligible for coverage under the Company’s medical and prescription drug insurance policy and the Company’s dental insurance policy. You are eligible to participate in the Company’s HSA plan. Eligibility begins on the first of month following 30 days of service. The Company also offer basic life insurance coverage.

· You will be eligible after one-year employment to participate in the Company’s 401(k) program. The Company currently makes a matching contribution of the 10% upper limit.

· Vacation:

§ After six months of employment, you qualify for 5 days of paid vacation.

§ From 1 through 4 years of continuous employment, you qualify for 10 days of paid vacation per calendar year.

§ After 5 years or more of continuous employment, you qualify for 15 days of paid vacation per calendar year.

· Sick Leave: You are eligible for a maximum of 2 days of paid sick leave per calendar year.

· Holidays: You are eligible for the Company paid holidays as specified in the Employee Handbook.

Physical Demands

To successfully perform the essential functions of this job the employee must be able to do the following: the employee is regularly required to sit and stand and to use hands and fingers. The employee is required to walk, bend, climb, and drive motorized vehicles. The employee must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and move parts, tools, and equipment throughout the plant. The specific vision required by this job includes both close vision and distance vision.

Work Place

The employee is required to work in the normal office environment.

Work Environment

The work environment involves daily exposure to unusual hot and cold temperatures, humidity, and/or noise.

The work environment involves daily exposure to physical risks, such as working around mechanical, chemical, and electrical hazards.
