Position Duties and Responsibilities:
As the Proposal Manager, you’ll oversee all proposal activities, including framing out the proposal, directing section writers, managing proposal schedules and deadlines, and monitoring the progress of the proposal while ensuring compliance. You’ll partner with the Capture Manager to integrate the win strategy and solution into a proposal structured for compliance and ease of evaluation. You’ll also develop and execute a review plan (e.g., Pink Team, Red Team, Gold Team) for interim and final reviews of the technical and management proposals. We’ll rely on you to coordinate, assemble, check and/or schedule administrative functions in support of the production of assigned proposals.
Responsibilities:
- Managing all aspects of proposal management, including the creation of timelines and schedules for proposals
- Reviewing proposals for compliance with company policies and industry standards
- Coordinating the development of proposals with various departments within an organization, such as marketing or human resources
- Providing feedback to proposal writers on how to improve their responses
- Managing all aspects of proposal management, including the creation of timelines and schedules for proposals
- Coordinating with outside vendors to create proposals that meet the client’s unique requirements
- Manage proposal process and coordinate with proposal writers to ensure that projects are completed on time.
Required Skills:
- Excellent writing and editing skills.
- Must be able to communicate effectively across the organization and keep the proposal moving through the writing process.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Strong organizational, follow through and time management skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize effectively.
- Ability to meet deadlines and multi-task.
- Ability to react well under pressure in high-stress situations.
- Ability to build professional and courteous relationships with your colleagues and supervisors, while motivating them to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse interdisciplinary team.
Required Experience:
- Minimum three years of experience/background in preparing proposals
- Proven track record in managing large proposal efforts in the Federal Government arena
- Experience leading proposal teams in discussions on proposal win themes and other strategic messages
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with graphic art software
- Familiarity with concepts in Information Technology
- Experience in response to RFPs for GWACs
Education Requirement:
- B.S. Degree in a related field and a minimum of 3 years of related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background
