General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Proposal Specialist (Senior). The position provides an opportunity to enhance the performance and profitability of an organization that supports some of our nation’s fundamental defense services. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions. This position is available in Taunton, MA, Scottsdale, AZ, or Fairfax, VA. Candidate must be local to one of these Proposal Center of Excellence locations.
Duties and Tasks:
- Responsible for submitting 100% compliant proposal
- Participates in various proposal activities, including document preparation, insertion of graphics, editing and formatting documents
- Participates in the creation of oral proposal materials to include PowerPoint charts, notes and scripts.
- Partners with Capture Manager to integrate the win strategy and solution into a proposal structured for compliance and ease of evaluation
- Participates in the development and review of proposal strategies and themes
- Creates outlines for sections of a proposal that will be used as a key document design and control medium
- Follows the RFP/bid requirements against the proposal outline to ensure both compliance and responsiveness to the customer’s issues and needs
- Supports building the proposal compliance matrix and tracks the fulfillment of all requirements
- Participate in reviews of storyboards and proposal sections to ensure formatting requirements are adequately addressed and that customer page limits are not exceeded
- Supports writing/editing/rewriting efforts and works with the Volume Leaders to ensure inter-volume compatibility is achieved
- Works under the supervision of Proposal and Capture Managers and others business leaders on large proposals.
- Maybe responsible for the document production of White Papers and Request for Information responses.
- Ensures that review comments are incorporated into the proposal
- Coordinates, assembles, checks and/or schedules administrative functions in support of the production of assigned proposals
- 30% travel may be required.

- Adept at all facets of proposal development and management
- Considerable understanding of business development and capture process
- Considerable understanding of business strategies and technical issues as they relate to business growth General Dynamics Proprietary Information
- Considerable knowledge of missions, products and technologies including current and future applications
- Able to articulate examples of having managed winning proposals in areas related to GDMS business
- Considerable understanding of specific areas within assigned market awareness, to include budgets, customer priorities, mission gaps and market dynamics
- Maintains a clear knowledge of government contracting and acquisition practices
- Able to thrive in a highly interactive team environment
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships with internal stakeholders
- Develops solutions to a variety of moderately complex problems
- Works collaboratively with resources external to the functional or project team
- Follows policies, processes, and procedures for self and project teams
- Work is performed under general direction
- Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives

Salary Note: This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. Combined Salary Range: USD $73,735.00 - USD $79,800.00 /Yr. Company Overview:
