Job Description:
$3,000 hiring bonus available
We are currently looking for a full-time (40hrs/week - benefits-eligible) medical assistant to join the Urgent Care team.
Applicants do not need previous experience or training/certification as a medical assistant.
As a Provider Assistant you will be responsible for providing clinical and administrative support to ensure efficient patient care. You will support clinicians and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication.
Responsibilities
- Interview patients and document basic medical history
- Take vitals and document findings in the patient chart
- Review annual wellness questionaire with appropriate patients
- Administer immunizations
- Monitor messages and relay clinician responses via phone calls
- Enter orders for laboratory services
Required Qualifications: Current CPR Certification for health professionals through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross and one of the following qualifications:
1. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program with or without certification (AAMA or AMT) OR
2. current LPN (MN and WI License Required) OR
3. Graduate of an accredited EMT program plus current EMT license.
Preferred Qualifications: One year medical assistant or LPN experience in a clinic preferred; Excellent verbal and written skills; Excellent customer service skills; tact and diplomacy in interpersonal interactions with patients/ families/ clinic staff members; An ability to demonstrate compassion and caring in all interactions; Understanding of patient education needs, able to effectively share information with patients, family members and clinic staff as needed; Ability to learn, retain information regarding patient care procedures; Ability to plan, prioritize and complete delegated tasks; Ability to remain calm in stressful situations; Experience with EPIC preferred.
Additional Information:
$3,000 hiring bonus applies only to new hire and does not apply to former employees rehired within one year of departure from HealthPartners Clinic Stillwater (formerly Stillwater Medical Group) or employees moving from another HealthPartners or HealthPartners-affiliated employer.
