New Hanover Regional Medical Center seeks to hire Inpatient-based Psychiatrists to provide services within the medical center and the Behavioral Health Hospital. A 62-bed psychiatric hospital on the New Hanover Regional Medical Center campus, the Behavioral Health Hospital provides inpatient psychiatric programs for adults. The staff is specially trained to assess and care for patients for depressions, adjustment disorders, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, psychotic and personality disorders. There are 4 inpatient units that constitute 62 licensed beds. The care Team consists of eleven physicians and two mid-level providers. Call is 1 in 11.

Ideal candidates must have a strong work ethic, good interpersonal and communication skills, a commitment to excellent patient care and a team-oriented attitude.

Qualifications:
Education:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of medicine required
  • Completion of an accredited residency program required
  • For specialty physicians - completion of an accredited fellowship program specific to medical specialty
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
  • Current MD license in appropriate state
  • Board certification or eligibility
  • Current DEA license required
