Purchasing Manager Job at Universal Contracting & Solar
Universal Contracting & Solar is looking for a driven, results-oriented individual to join our growing team. We are a local, large, family owned and run roofing and solar company in Southwest Florida. Our Corporate office is located right outside Fort Myers, in the heart of the storm! We have locations in Tampa and Orlando as well. With the recent catastrophe, we are expanding and looking for like-minded individuals to grow with us!

RESPONSIBILITIES :
This position is for an experienced individual to oversee all of the material ordering needs for Universal Contracting and Solar. In general, this person will work closely with operations personnel to ensure goods and services are acquired cost-effectively and in a timely manner. This person will assist the Coordinators and Admin team with scheduling projects. The Purchasing Manager will be assisting our production team to make sure the fulfillment of jobs and contracts produced by the Sales Team.
- Ordering of material, dumpsters, and material returns.
- Supplier relationship management
- Negotiate with suppliers for best pricing
- Lower purchasing costs & supplier prices
- Select prospective vendors and negotiate contracts
- Forecast price trends and impact on future activities
- Ensure all products and quantity levels are maintained and acceptable
- Asses current material availability; reasonably predict future availability based on the market, delivery systems, and other variables
- Organizing and monitoring work flow to ensure all projects are on schedule
- Facilitate moving projects and pushing status progress
- Oversee and monitor all projects and their status
REQUIREMENTS :
- 5+ years of experience of roofing in Florida (preferred)
- MUST KNOW FLORIDA BUILDING CODES
- Able to use our CRM
- Critical thinking skills, ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple projects with overlapping deadlines
- Great customer service and communication skills
- Willing to learn and ask for assistance

Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
